Augmentative & Alternative Communication
AAC is a means of anyway of communicating that is not talking. This could mean low tech, such as gestures, point boards , or writing. It could also be high tech, using computers with touch screen capabilities or even eye gaze for those who are unable to touch a screen.
Devices are often covered by insurance and/or a grant through the state of Texas.
Find out more how a SLP evaluation with SAST can help you gain access to communication through AAC, if appropriate.
